Basis of Design Review

Microrite offers comprehensive basis of design review services that lay the groundwork for successful project execution. Our expert team ensures each BOD engineering review aligns with regulatory requirements, operational goals, and industry best practices. By prioritizing precision and collaboration, we help clients identify potential risks, optimize workflows, and ensure seamless project transitions.

For cleanroom projects, our cleanroom BOD evaluation process focuses on creating environments that meet stringent cleanliness standards while integrating key architectural and engineering factors. We evaluate every element, from airflow controls to material selection, ensuring a design that supports compliance and efficiency.

Microrite’s team of highly experienced HVAC, design, particulate, airflow, static charge and microbiology personnel cohesively perform independent review of cleanroom design against the project’s requirements.

The design is evaluated against requirements in order to verify the outcomes of intended activities and identify issues before committing to building launch. This thorough expert review helps prevent design pitfalls that may eventually lead to contaminated product and loss of time and resources.

Building design documents are often produced collectively by architects and engineers (in structural, civil, mechanical, electrical, process engineering disciplines, etc.). For a typical cleanroom and laboratory building design process, there are five phases to architectural and engineering design services:

  • Schematic Design
  • Design Development
  • Construction Documents
  • Bidding
  • Construction Administration

Microrite’s independent “Basis of Design” review may be solicited at various progressions toward the completion of design.

  1. Schematic Design at 0% to 20% for initial basis of design review and drawings for progress review
  2. Design Development at 20% to 50% for progress of drawings
  3. Construction documents at 50% to 100% for updated basis of design review, review of documents issued for bidding and construction, as well as review of specifications

The design review process includes HVAC, plumbing, fire protection, electrical, control, process and automation systems, energy analysis and any other project-specific systems to ensure that the design built facility can support the manufacturing of contamination free product, whether the contamination is particulate, microbial, static charge or molecular in nature.

Partnering with Microrite means working with a team dedicated to delivering clarity and confidence in every BOD engineering review. You can trust us to guide your design process with expertise and a commitment to exceeding your expectations.
